Some of you may remember my first post on Deep Ellum from last summer. I’ve been back twice since then, and I just had to gush about them again. I mean, just look at that burrito!
To start, we ordered these heavenly Deviled Eggs. I never saw myself as a fan of deviled eggs, but then I realized I haven’t tried them in about 10 years so it was time to give them another shot!
These bad boys change daily, and the special on this particular day was ouzo and ginger. It was such a great combination of flavors – a little bitter, a little kick, all against the sturdy, smooth flavor of the egg itself. And the presentation was so pleasing, which adds to the experience that much more. So, now I like deviled eggs! You really do learn something new every day.
I ordered the Deep Ellum Breakfast Burrito. You can just tell looking at it that you’re in for a treat!
The breakfast burrito was, if you could believe it, even better than it looks! It comes complete with scrambled eggs, house-made chorizo, salsa verde, Longhorn cheese, crema, and potatos. This is not only the biggest, but the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had. It’s packed with a flurry of flavors and hearty ingredients – perfect to warm you up in this snowy season!
Another great dish was the Reuben Sandwich, which was served with corned beef, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, marble rye, slaw and fries. I love the sweet flavor of corned beef, and it’s just made perfectly here.
We’ve never been disappointed by Deep Ellum. It’s got this great trendy/hipster atmosphere, and every single time we come to eat here, we are blown away by the dishes we’re served. It’s one of those places you definitely go out of your way to get to!
