Oh Barcelona, why can’t I quit you? You may have noticed that I keep reviewing Barcelona Wine Bar (brunch and dinner), and that’s simply because it’s amazing. Barcelona is a tapas restaurant (meaning lots of little meals) with the best service I’ve ever encountered, and some of the best plates too. That’s the perfect combination if you ask me.
We started off the night with one of my favorite tapas of all time (and Barcelona does them best) – Jamon and Chicken Croquettes! These little fried bites are filled with warm, gooey cheese, chicken and ham. They’re unbeatable comfort food, and I always want to eat 50 of them.
To offset the fried croquettes, we got a healthy, light plate next: Hamachi Crudo. This raw fish was sprinkled with lovage, orange, and jalapeno. Each bite had such a burst of bright flavor, it was so refreshing! Wish I could have this plate every day.
For our entree we ordered the Mariscos Paella. How can you resist a skillet full of goodness like this? It comes with squid, prawns, clams, and mussels. So tasty and not too heavy.
We finished with these AMAZING Spanish churros and warm chocolate dipping sauce. Even writing about these is making me want to go back for more!
