Let’s get real: From recent elections, to feuding countries and environmental changes, today’s world is pretty crazy. For a second there I felt like maybe it was a good idea to put style and food posts on hold, but then I got to thinking – things like fashion are important now more than ever.
Why do you think people enjoy sports, or art, or philosophy? Not only are they a welcome distraction to everyday and major conflicts, but they also serve as a reminder that there is still joy and beauty in the world. To me, fashion (and great food), are no different than getting a few hours of excitement out of the latest sports game, or letting out your creative side by creating a painting or writing a novel.
If you have a passion for style, cultivating the perfect outfit by putting together textures, colors and silhouettes is your Superbowl. It’s a great way to have control over something in your daily life when you can’t necessarily control events of the world. This doesn’t mean we won’t stand up for what we believe in or make our voices heard, it just means that there’s nothing wrong with continuing to focus on other passions along the way.
Now we can get to the fun stuff! I’m a firm believer in treating yourself for a job well done, and my first big treat to myself after high school was a small black Coach clutch. Ever since, Coach has been my favorite handbag designer (and I still use that bag regularly)!
Fast-forward a few years: Allow me to introduce you to Acorn, my new favorite Coach dinky crossbody bag from their pre-spring 2017 collection. I named her not only after her classic shade, but also after our photoshoot on the most photographed street in the world – Beacon Hill’s historic Acorn Street!
Update: Be sure to check out my recent collaboration for Coach: The Fragrance as well!
