Our first adventure is to Ptown, aka Provincetown, Massachusetts, on the very tip of the Cape! If you’re looking for a staycation, use code CHOWDOWNUSA for 5% off the room rate, and book directly through the Del Mar website since their prices are much more cost effective than other booking sites! They have over 172 rentals all over Cape Cod and which are all super cute, and I definitely recommend checking them out for a relaxing getaway! Check out this luxury home with a bird’s eye view, this waterfront penthouse, or this lakeside hideaway. Some start at only $40/night!
Read on to see our Ptown staycation highlights – like lighthouse adventures, epic bike rides, massive sand dunes along the beach, the adorable town & its fascinating history, and our rental property itself!
Where to Stay in Provincetown | Staycation in Cape Cod with Del Mar Vacations

Our Cape Cod staycation was the best way to step out into the world again! I went with Kelsey from KelsConverse, Marissa from OneCrafDIYGirl, and Rob from RoyalHorizonMedia. We got 3 separate apartments, all connected on the same property so that we could physically distance while socially connecting! Can you spot all 3 of the girls in the photo above?
Where We Stayed

We were glad to be able to have 3 apartments on the same property, all of which share a backyard and come with their own parking space. 2 of the apartments are studios, and the 3rd is 2 stories with 2 upstairs bedrooms. I’ll be giving a tour of the 2 story property.
This property is known as The Brushstroke, so named because of the painters who used to vacation here. Provincetown is known for its art, so it’s really special to stay at the exact place where Mark Rothko to Jackson Polluck stayed. I love hearing about inspirational people being in the same place I have – I imagine them getting inspired and living their lives in the same rooms, and sharing that energy on some level.
This room is the smaller of the 2 bedrooms upstairs. It really shows the incredible light and clean, minimalistic and cozy atmosphere of the property. Cape Cod Coffee left us the cutest and most delicious coffee set with the room as well!

There’s something so nice and calming about working in wide open spaces with plenty of natural lighting!

The upstairs bathroom is so beautiful – again tons of natural light, blue tiling, and it even comes with a washer & dryer!

Do you ever come away from a property and really miss the shower? That’s how I feel about this one! It was gorgeous with floor-to-ceiling white brick tiling.

The master bedroom upstairs has SO much room for activities! Both bedrooms have King beds, for that extra touch of luxury and relaxation.

Another great thing about the property is how quiet it is here – I slept like a baby!
P.s. Catch Sligo the sheep making his Chow Down USA debut! I got Sligo on our trip to Ireland last fall.

Did I mention how much I’m loving the natural light here? They are so generous with the number of windows and it really makes a difference in the relaxing, open atmosphere! Nothing like waking up with a tea or coffee and gazing out the window. I wonder if Jackson Polluck found the view inspiring for his paintings!

Off to the downstairs for breakfast and checking emails before the days’ activities.

It was nice that the living room is big enough to have 6 feet between guests for a social distancing staycation.

The kitchen comes with a stove, oven, toaster, coffee maker, and dishwasher. Dishes, soap and paper towels were also provided. They do a full house cleaning in between every guest which made us feel extra safe.

I love how the property has that quintessential Cape Cod exterior. Let’s check out the backyard!

We had quite a few meals out here at the backyard table, soaking in the late spring sun and catching up.

Chef Rob killed it on the grill. It’s a gas grill and they supplied the gas which was nice.

Who wants to see the roof deck?!

Midway up to the top is a cute little landing to the other studio.

Treetops as far as the eye could see! So relaxing.

You can just see the beach on the other side as well.

This private way is just a block down and is part of the property, giving you beach access! We walked along the beach and basically lost track of time / how far we went since it was so pretty! Everyone is so friendly here and we met a few people walking their dogs.

We instantly felt right at home at the property, and had a sense of calm and peacefulness in the quaint neighborhood. We loved how our friends could have adjoining properties and all share one backyard. It was honestly the perfect staycation to get out of the house and see friends while social distancing and feeling as safe as possible.

Where to Stay in Provincetown: Final Thoughts
Our stay in Provincetown with Del Mar Vacations was seriously the perfect staycation. We’ve been couped up for so long these past few months, and it’s important to be able to get out in the safest way possible. We got to explore while social distancing and catch up with friends. It brought a sense of normalcy and that everything will be ok which is truly priceless. We did bring masks and wore them constantly when not in front of the camera, in addition to gloves and antibacterial hand sanitizer.
Need a staycation? I highly suggest booking yours directly through the Del Mar website! You’ll save a lot of money booking direct since they don’t have all those extra crazy fees that a lot of other rental booking sites have. Plus, you’ll get an extra 5% off of the room rate with code CHOWNDOWNUSA! They have over 172 rentals all over Cape Cod and they are all SUPER cute, so I definitely recommend checking them out! Browse their properties at Del Mar Vacations and don’t forget your discount code CHOWDOWNUSA to save an additional 5% off the room rate! Rooms are going quick for summer and more are open for fall at the moment – you can adjust your search according to certain dates to see what’s available!
